1. Information We Collect

We only collect information that is strictly necessary to provide and improve our Services.

1.1 Information You Provide to Us

  • Account Information: When you sign in using third-party providers (Google or GitHub), we collect your basic profile information: your name, email address, and profile picture (avatar).
  • User-Generated Content: To provide the AI writing and workshop features, we store the text, characters, world settings, prompts, and images you create or upload to our platform.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Essential Cookies: We use cookies solely to manage your active session (via NextAuth) and to remember your UI preferences (such as light/dark mode or studio colors). We do not use advertising, marketing, or tracking cookies.
  • Standard Server Logs: Our hosting environments automatically record basic server requests (such as IP addresses and timestamps) to ensure the security and operational stability of the platform.

1.3 Payment Information

We use Paddle (Paddle.com) as our Merchant of Record to handle all payments, subscriptions, and billing. When you upgrade your account or purchase credits, you provide your payment details directly to Paddle via their secure checkout widget. We do not process, collect, or store your credit card numbers or raw financial data. We only receive a secure token and purchase status to update your account limits.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To Provide the Service: Authenticating your login, saving your workshop progress, and displaying your uploaded assets.
  • To Generate AI Content: Your prompts and workshop contexts are securely transmitted to our AI model providers to generate text and image continuations.
  • To Manage Billing: Interacting with Paddle to ensure your account reflects the correct number of AI generation credits based on your purchases.
  • To Maintain Security: Detecting and preventing abuse, fraud, and violations of our Terms of Service.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We only share data with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate the Services:

  • Payment Processor: Paddle acts as our Merchant of Record. By making a purchase, you agree to Paddle's checkout terms and privacy policy.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Your database records are securely hosted on Tencent Cloud, and your uploaded/generated files (such as images) are stored using Aliyun (Alibaba Cloud) OSS. Our server logic is hosted via Aliyun Serverless (FC3).
  • AI Model Providers: To generate text and images, the specific prompts and contexts you submit are processed by Aliyun (Qwen models) and Volcengine (Doubao/DeepSeek models). These providers process the data strictly to fulfill the API request.

4. Data Retention

  • Active Accounts: We retain your account information, workshop data, and assets for as long as your account remains active. We do not currently delete inactive accounts.
  • Account Deletion: You can request to delete your account at any time. Upon deletion, your personal data and workshop content will be removed from our active database.
  • Exception for Policy Violators: As outlined in our Terms of Service, accounts terminated for severe violations of our Content Policy may have their data deleted immediately without a retrieval period, and certain identifying hashes may be retained to prevent platform abuse.

5. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on your location, you may have specific rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to Access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to Rectification: You can update your profile and workshop data directly within the app.
  • Right to Erasure (Right to be Forgotten): You can request that we delete your account and associated data.
  • Right to Restrict Processing: You can request that we limit how we process your personal data.

6. International Data Transfers

GHAI Studio is operated from Mainland China. By using our Services, you acknowledge that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed on servers located in Japan and other future servers (via Tencent Cloud and Aliyun). We take appropriate security measures to protect your data in transit and at rest.

7. Children's Privacy

Our Services require users to be at least 18 years of age to register and use the platform, primarily due to the nature of AI-generated content and the requirement of valid payment methods. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that a minor has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete such information immediately.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. The updated version will be indicated by a revised "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
